London Conchord Ensemble was formed in 2002 by internationally recognised young soloists, chamber musicians and principals from the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Opera House Orchestra, the Philharmonia and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe.
Conchord made its Wigmore Hall debut in October 2002 followed with a European debut at the Schleswig-Holstein festival. The ensemble performs and records extensively throughout the UK, Europe and North America often incorporating collaborations with guest artists such as Dame Felicity Lott, Andrew Kennedy, Daniel Norman, Florian Uhlig and James Gilchrist.
Conchord enjoys a busy recording career, with discs on the Sanctuary Classics/ASV, Black Box and Quartz labels and can be heard regularly on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM. In 2008 they will launch a 3 CD recording project on Orchid Classics.
Future seasons include a tour to Germany and concerts in Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Palais des Beaux Arts Brussels, Chelsea Festival with James Gilchrist and the Windsor Festival with Sue Bickley.
